Are You Customer Focused?
Are You Customer Focused?
Are you as customer focused as you think you are? OR are you really focused on yourself when you are selling? Every day I hear entrepreneurs, sales people and business owners declare that they’re “customer focused” and their sales process is centered all around the customer. So ask yourself…are you customer focused?
Unfortunately what they declare is radically different from what they’re actually doing.
Just saying you’re customer focused is completely different than being customer focused. Here is what is really happening and how you can tell if you are making the sales process about yourself.
Do you ever say things like this?
- I don’t like selling or sales.
- I don’t want people to think I’m being pushy or salesy.
- I don’t want to bother people and keep calling them.
- Selling makes me uncomfortable and uneasy.
- I don’t like to talk about myself and my products or services.
- I don’t want to be rejected and I hate hearing no.
- I am not good at or don’t like to ask for the sale, it makes me feel awkward.
- I just want prospects to see the value of what I offer.
- I just need to get in front of someone so they can seem my value.
And soooo many more! Did you catch something?
It’s all about you, and how you fell or don’t want to feel.
You have the spotlight on YOU.
Sales is NOT about you. If you put the focus on you….that means you are not being customer focused.
Think about it..If you’re making selling about you and your fears, your presentation and your concerns….how can you say you are all about the customer When all of your energy, thoughts and intentions are centered on your needs, you create a disconnect with your potential customer.
They feel it and they know you are focused on yourself and your needs. People can tell when your intentions are in the right place. Start to pay attention to where your focus is when you are in front of a perfect client or ideal customer. Make it about them over and over and watch what happens to your income.
